MANILA (15 Oct 2013) – Philippines won their second Peace Cup in two years when they beat Pakistan 3-1 tonight at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.
Needing to win by at least two goals to make sure that they win the title this year, the Philippines pushed hard early in the game only to fall behind when Pakistan nailed the opener through Kaleem Ullah’s 15th minute effort.
But Patrick Reichelt grabbed the equalizer in the 34th minute for both teams to be on level terms at the break.
Chris Greatwich then put the Philippines ahead for the first time in the game in the 78th minute before Stephan Shrock then scored the all-important goal with two minutes remaining.
