MANILA (17 May 2012) – The Philippines national team has lined matches against Indonesia and Guam after their rematch against Malaysia on 1 June 2012 in Kuala Lumpur.
The Malaysians have requested a rematch of their earlier friendly against the Philippines in February which ended in a 1-1 draw in Manila. The game on 1 June 2012 has been confirmed for the Shah Alam Stadium.
After the game against Malaysia, the Philippines will then take on Indonesia on 5 June 2012 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila before playing against Guam on 12 June 2012 at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.
“We wanted to play against Bahrain Under-22 but it was also important for us to get FIFA ranking points and that can only happen if we play senior teams,” said Azkals manager Dan Palami.
“The team is delighted at the prospect of playing again in Bacolod where support for the Azkals has also been overwhelming.”
