MANILA (25 March 2012) – The Philippines national team has drawn up a friendly match against China as part of their celebration to mark the Philippine Independence Day on 12 June 2012 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Mariano Araneta, the president of the Philippines Football Federation (PFF) said that the match against China is but just a string of friendlies they have planned for the month of June.
“We want to bring back the Chinese crowd,” said Araneta, referring to the major supporters of football in the 1960s and 1970s.
“Other than China, we are also looking at games against Indonesia on 5 June 5 in Manila, and against Thailand or Vietnam on 8 June, probably in Bacolod City.”
