BACOLOD CITY (14 Oct 2013) – Philippines are still within defending the Peace Cup crown they won last year following the 1-0 win Pakistan scored against Chinese Taipei last night.
Pakistan scored the only goal in the game against the visiting Taiwanese side early in the seventh minute through Zeshan Rehman.
With the win, Pakistan moved up to the top of the three-team standings while Chinese Taipei are on second after their 2-1 win over hosts Philippines in the first game of the tournament this year.
Philippines are at the bottom of the heap with no point to their name.
But the Philippines can still win the Peace Cup this year should they be able to beat Pakistan by at least two clear goals in the final round-robin game tomorrow.
