MANILA (10 Oct 2010) – Heavy downpour which began at the start of the first whistle forced the match between the Philippines and Hong Kong’s U-23 squad in the Long Teng Cup to be postponed.
With the score tied scoreless, the man in black had to call of the match just quarter of an hour into the game after the pitch became flooded and totally unplayable. Philippines, who are using the tournament in preparation for the qualifying round of the AFF Suzuki Cup in Laos in less than two weeks, had begun the match with Eduard Sacapano in goal; defenders Ali Borromeo, Anton del Rosario, David Basa, Jerry Barbosa and Rob Gier; midfielders Roel Gener, James Younghusband and Nestor Margarse Jr.; while Ian Araneta and Chieffy Caligdong were the strikers. |
