MANILA (16 Oct 2018) – The Philippines stepped up a gear in their preparation for the AFF Suzuki Cup next month when they held Oman to a 1-1 draw in the match that was played at the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium in Qatar.
The reigning Gulf Cup champions struck home early in the eighth minute when Raed Saleh pouncing on a poor clearance from Neil Etheridge.
But just six minutes before half-time, the Philippines grabbed the equalizer when Manny Ott’s free-kick was headed into goal by Khaled Al Hajiri.
In the meantime, Indonesia wasted a hatful of chances before they were held to a 1-1 draw by Hong Kong at the Wibawa Mukti Stadium in Cikarang.
It took the hosts a good 40 minutes before they were able to carve out the lead when Alberto Goncalves headed in the cross from Putu Gede,
Hong Kong then pounced the equalizer in the 69th minute when Baise Festu capitalized on a loose ball to put the score back on level.
