MANILA (4 July 2013) –The Philippines national Under-19 team will be using the Kanga Cup in Australia next week as part of their tune-up for the AFF U19 Championship in Surabaya, Indonesia in September.
The Kanga Cup will be held on 7-12 July in Canberra.
“The trainees have been training together for several months. We also had a summer camp last April. We have been maintaining the pool and adding to it over time whenever we spot talents here and abroad because this is a long term effort,” said team manager Alvin Carranza.
For the AFF U19 Championships, the Philippines are placed in Group A against Laos, Singapore, Australia, Cambodia, and Timor Leste.
In Group B are Brunei, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand.
