MANILA (27 June 2011) – The Philippines national team completed their tour of Germany with a 5-0 loss to German third division team Darmstadt.
The team which is being prepared for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers next week finished their tour with two wins – identical 4-1 victories over Duren Selection and Bonner 19-Under – and two losses, 4-0 to FC Ingolstadt and then the 5-0 defeat to Darmstadt.
Down by four goals in the first 25 minutes of play, Darmstadt then added the final fifth goal in the second half for the final scoreline.
“We learned a lot and we can only use this as motivation to step all over Sri Lanka,” said Philippines captain Aly Borromeo.
“Camp has been good aside from the traveling and the playing every other day.”
Philippines will take on Sri Lanka in Colombo on 29 June 2011 before the return tie in Manila on 3 July 2011
