MANILA (4 Sept 2014) –The Philippines walloped Chinese Taipei 5-1 to make the final of the Peace Cup where they will face Myanmar on Saturday.
In the match that was played at the Rizal Memorial Stadium, the home team grabbed a two-goal lead at the break off Rob Gier and James Younghusband.
Sustained pressure well into the second half saw Chinese Taipei conceding an own goal before Mark Hartmann fired in a brace, as the visitors stumbled in their only goal of the game in between.
In the meantime, Myanmar blasted Palestine 4-1 in an earlier match.
