MANILA (18 Dec 2017) – The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) have set a budget of P167 (USD 3.3 million) for 2018 with the bulk of the expenses to cover grassroots and youth development.
The budget proposal was approved during the PFF Congress this week.
“It will be a busy year for us next year,” said PFF President Mariano ‘Nonong’ Araneta. “We’re hoping to raise more funds for our programs.”
He said that while the PFF will continue to receive subsidies from FIFA, AFC and also the AFF, they would still need to raise about P32 million from other sources.
Other than funds for grassroots, some of the money will be spent on the construction of a new football center inside the San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite, and also the installation of the floodlights for the PFF National Training Center field.
Monies will also be spent on the men’s national team as they try to qualify for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup in March while the women’s team will vie in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup in Jordan in April.
