SURABAYA (5 Jan 2012) – Persebaya Surabaya lifted the Unity Cup after beating Kelantan 3-2 in the second leg of the one-off event at the Stadion Gelora 10 November Tambaksari.
The score at the end of the first leg played the previous week at the Sultan Mohd IV Stadium in Kota Bahru had ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
Andik Vermansyah was the toast for Persebaya Surabaya when he nailed the lead for his side in the 16th minute before setting up team-mates Feri Ariawan (65th minute) and Otovio Dutra (72nd minute) for the well-deserved victory.
The goals for Kelantan came off striker Norshahrul Idlan Talaha in the 48th minute and Indra Putra Mahayuddin in the 88th minute.
