JAKARTA (22 Dec 2011) – Pelita Jaya FC are hoping that they can sign Rahmad Darmawan as their new chief coach even though the latter has several other teams vying for his signature.
Rahmad resigned as the chief coach of the Indonesian national Under-23 team after the team lost to Malaysia in the final of the SEA Games last month.
But Pelita Jaya team manager Lalu Mara admitted this week that they have made an official approach to Rahmad even though at the moment he is back at work with the Indonesian Marines.
“I have made the request to sign Rahmad but at the moment, I don’t know how much progress has been made as I was not the one making the approach,” said Lalu.
“But I hope and I pray that Rahmad will make the right decision and sign for Pelita.”
Rahmad had previously coached for Persipura Jayapura, Sriwijaya FC and also Persija Jakarta.
