OWN GOAL GIVES PREAH KHAN PLACE IN FINAL

PHNOM PENH (15 August 2010) – An own goal from Nhim Sovanara put paid to Build Bright United FC’s hope of a place in the final of this year’s Metfone Cambodia League 2010 when they crashed to a 2-1 loss to Preah Khan Reach FC yesterday.

Preah Khan, who finished fourth in the league to make the play-offs, were a lot more determined as they were quick to steal the lead just two minutes in through Devide Nkoju.

And just when Build Bright thought that they were within the chance of a comeback, Nhim’s own goal in the 41st minute of play put Preah Khan comfortably 2-0 in front.

While Build Bright finally did pull a goal back barely a minute later, the second half saw Preah Khan holding on to the slender lead all the way to the finish.

With the win, Preah Khan will take on today’s winner in the match between defending champions Naga Corp FC and Phnom Penh Crown FC.

The final will be played in one week at the same venue of the National Olympic Stadium.
