PHNOM PENH (13 Sept 2012) – It took a battling performance from Preah Khan Reach FC and also a hat-trick from striker Olatubosun Olaoye Joseph before they were able to win third spot in the Metfone Cambodia League this year following their 4-2 win over National Police.
But it was National Police who were the more confident side when Oladiji Nelson Olatunde nailed the opener just two minutes from the first whistle before Olatubosun replied with the equaliser for Preah Khan just ten minutes later.
Olatubosun then put Preah Khan in front with his second strike of the afternoon at the half hour mark for the score to stand at 2-1 at the break.
National Police – who had been leading for much of the season before losing their pace at the end – were more determined going into the second half with Oladiji putting both teams on level 2-2 with this second goal of the game in the 67th minute of play.
However, Preah Khan showed that they were certainly the better side on the day with two more goals, off David Njoku in the 72nd minute as Olatubosun completed his hat-trick deep in injury time for the final scoreline.
The final game of the season which will determine the champions of the Metfone Cambodia League 2012 will be decided when Naga Corp FC take on Boueng Ket Rubbers Field FC in two days.
