NO NEW FACES FOR INDONESIA AT AFF FUTSAL

Indonesia national Futsal head coach Justin Lhaksana said that based on the performance of the players in the on-going Indonesia Futsal League 2008; there are no new faces whom he can rely on for the meet in Thailand.

“All the players whom we have called have played at the recent AFC Futsal Championship 2008. And these players are currently the best players in Indonesia and there’s simply no time to look at others,” said Justin.

Out of the 12 players whom Justin has called, ten are from the current Indonesia Futsal League 2008 leaders Electric PLN while two others – Deny Handoyo and Achmad Syaibani – are from club Biangbola FC.

“These players whom we have assembled have been playing together throughout the AFC Futsal qualifiers and also for the tournament proper. It is a good combination of the young and the experienced. The only thing is that these players need time to come together,” added Justin.

For the AFF Futsal Championship, the Indonesia national team are in Group A alongside Philippines, Myanmar and hosts Thailand.

“I believe that we are making strong progress against Thailand. We should do much better this time round than how we’ve fared before,” he added.
