HANOI (9 Jan 2012) – The Nhi Dong (Children) newspaper will be hosting the inaugural National Under-10 Football Championship in May.
Participating teams will compete in three qualifying rounds in Thai Binh, Quang Binh and Tra Vinh with the best teams then advancing into the final round in Vung Tau City.
The Military Telecommunication Group Viettel, is sponsoring this year’s tournament. The best players from the event will be recruited by the Viettel Football Centre in Hanoi.
This is the first year an U10 meet is being organized after the U11, U13 and underprivileged children tournaments being organized since 1997.
