BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (11 May 2013) – The National FA of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) are looking at forming a task force to make sure that they have a long-term development programme in place.
“I honestly say that football in our country will not go far if we (stakeholders) do not have a long term plan in the setting up and implementation of football development,” said His Royal Highness Prince Sufri Bolkiah, the president of the NFABD.
“With this (task force), we hope that we will be able to identify critical factors in planning the development of football at all stages intensively and as well as comprehensively, starting at the grassroots level.
“The steps of implementing it also need to be looked at systematically and with a great detail.”
The task force would consist of Brunei football’s stakeholders which is the NFABD, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and also the Ministry of Education.
“This task force will not only focus on the development of the football players alone, but also focus on the coaching aspect of it,” said Prince Sufri. “Without a good coach, it will be difficult to produce good football players.”
