BANGKOK (7 Aug 2013) – The Neymar-Messi show led Spanish giant FC Barcelona to a 7-1 beating of the Thai national side here tonight at the Rajamangala Stadium.
With 25-year-old Teerasil Dangda’s penalty conversion (in the 43rd minute) being the only high point for the team home team, the rest of the night was all Barcelona as they showed football’s finest fluidity of movement.
New signing Neymar opened account in the 12th minute as FIFA World Player of the Year Lionel Messi then added the second goal with a converted penalty barely a minute later.
Alongside Messi’s second goal of the game in the 25th minute, Pedro (Rodriguez Ledesma) was on target twice in the 19th and 35th minute as Barcelona walked off confident on a 5-1 lead in front of a sell-out crowd.
With two more goals through Pedro (48th minute) and then Alexis Sanchez (49th minute) just into the start of the second half, Barcelona then stepped off the gas to allow Thailand more possession.
But in the end, it was a night well-earned for the better-known side from Spain as the score remained all the way to the end.
