PHNOM PENH (9 April 2012) – Newcomer Boueng Ket Rubber Field moved up to third in the Metfone Cambodia League 2012 when they beat Build Bright United 2-0 at the National Olympic Stadium yesterday. Both goals for Boueng Ket were scored in the first half of the game by Nwakuna Friday in the 31st minute and Momoh Degule Sumaila in the 44th minute.
The victory was Boueng Ket’s third in four matches as they keep the pace with league leaders National Police and second-placed Naga Corp FC, who are both on ten points from five games played.
In the meantime former champions Naga Corp FC picked up their win of the season when they edged Preah Khan Reach FC 2-1 with Prak Mony Odom delivering the winning goal ten minutes to the end.
Earlier, Kob Sa had given Naga the lead in the 43rd minute only to see it being erased by Choun Chum at the hour mark.
On the other hand, Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC handed Western University their second loss in four matches when they beat latter 3-0. The score at the end of the first half was 1-0 with Kirivong scoring the only goal of the game off Heng Koemhoung in the sixth minute. They then scored two further goals after the break from Ishola Ibrahim Abiding in the 48th minute and Rada Badry Sayed Meganed in the 90th minute.
