MANILA (21 Nov 2010) – With the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 just round the corner, several teams will be donning new colours to carry their challenge for the biggest regional football championship.
The AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 will be held in two cities of Jakarta in Indonesia and also in Hanoi in Vietnam starting early next month. Group A are Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Laos while Group B are Vietnam, Singapore, Myanmar and the Philippines. The five Nike-sponsored teams of Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore had already launched new colours in the hope that it will provide them with the right impetus for a better performance on the pitch. Vietnam has introduced red vertical pinstripes running down their white kit while Singapore is mostly red with blue and red round collar. Thailand’s shirt is mostly yellow with blue and red lines across the chest while the Malaysians adjusted their usual yellow and black vertical stripes, with a round collar. While Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia have basically made just slight adjustments to existing design and colour scheme, the most eye-catching kit yet would be that of Indonesia. The home shirt is still red in colour although they have used the Indonesian national crest of the ‘garuda’ as a watermark at the front of the jersey. The Philippines have also redesigned their white kit under Mizuno with red and blue lines across the chest while Myanmar, which is sponsored by Diadora, is still red with a blue border. Laos will be using the same colours as they had done previously at the SEA Games last year with mostly red jersey and lines of white. |
