KUALA LUMPUR (22 May 2012) – Malaysian youngster Mohd Nazmi Faiz has signed a three-year contract with Portuguese Division One side S.C Beira Mar, after impressing the club selectors in a week-long trial.
“It is hard to describe how I feel at the moment as this is a great opportunity in my playing career,” said the 17-year-old Nazmi. “Playing in Europe is a big dream and I would just like to thank my family for all the support.”
Nazmi first made an impression when he was included in the Malaysian national Under-23 team for their campaign in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers under chief coach Ong Kim Swee.
And while playing for the Harimau Muda squad in Singapore, he received the attention of Singapore-based agent Marco Guimaeres who then offered the lad the chance to attend trials with the side from Protugal.
