PHNOM PENH (1 April 2012) – A comprehensive 4-0 beating of Build Bright United at the National Olympic Stadium this week has given National Police the lead in the Metfone Cambodia League 2012.
Oladiji Nelson Olatunde was the toast for National Police with a quartet of goals – all coming in the second half (62nd, 68th, 85th and 88th minute). With the three points, National Police have maintained a 100% record with three wins out of three matches.
The loss for Build Bright meant that they have now slipped down to ninth from seventh previously.
In the meantime, Western University picked up their first win of the season when they beat Chhlam Samut 3-1. But it was Chhlam Samuth who drew first blood in the game when Ayodele Silvasunday knocked in the lead in the 42nd minute.
But Western University, who had pick up only one point from their last two matches, fought back in the second half for Hy Sok Veng to draw level in the 51st minute before Kang Sopheak grabbed a double (83rd and 90th minute) for the win.
