PHNOM PENH (21 June 2016) – A brace from newly-signed North Korean striker Ri Hyok-chol ensured National Defense Ministry FC they keep in touch with league leaders Boeung Ket Angkor as the former scratched a 2-0 victory over National Police.
With Boeung Ket rubbing Asia Europe University with a 5-0 thrashing, National Defense had little choice but to come up with the goods to keep the pace at the top of the Metfone C-League 2016.
And at the Old Stadium, the 31-year old Hyok-chol showed his quality with a double strike at the end of the first half for the well-deserved win.
The win saw National Defense picking up 27 points from ten matches played – the same as Boeung Ket although the latter is on top due to better goal difference.
