HANOI (11 Feb 2014) – A double from Slovenian World Cupper Nastja Ceh kept Thanh Hoa on top in the V-League 2014 when they edged a combative Becamex Binh Duong 2-1.
Playing at home at the Thanh Hoa Stadium did not give the home team any respite as Binh Duong let loose a series of attacks in the opener before they finally nailed the lead early in the ninth minute when Nguyen Anh Duc tap in a lovely square from Abass Dieng Cheikh.
But Thanh Hoa did not lose their shape and in the 17th minute, Nastja found the equaliser with a superb freekick that took a deflection before going by Binh Duong keeper Nguyen Quoc Thien Esele.
And just two minutes after the restart, Thanh Hoa grabbed their second of the evening when Nastja converted the perfect penalty following a handball by Binh Duong midfielder Mai Tien Thanh.
The win was Thanh Hoa’s third in four matches.
Elsewhere, Quang Ninh Coal dumped Dong Tam Long 3-0 while Hoang Anh Gia Lai picked up their first win of the season with a 3-1 win over Song Lam Nghe An 3-1.
