BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (8 May 2015) – Najip I-Team maintained their fourth win in a row in the DST Super League when they beat Tabuan Muda (Brunei Under-23 team) at the Berakas Sports Complex last night.
Md Amirul Hamrey Md Norshaney put Najip ahead after 22 minutes as they then doubled the advantage five minutes after the restart through substitute Abd Afiq Roslan.
Moments later, Haziman Abd Halim converted a penalty to make it 3-0 to Najip’s advantage.
Tabuan Muda pulled a goal back in the 79th minute when Md Halimg Hassan latched on to a cross from the right but it failed to ignite a revival.
“We were trying to conserve energy in the first half and played more defensively as we know that fitness wise, Tabuan Muda were better,” said Najip head coach Johari Bungsu.
