PHNOM PENH (17 May 2011) – Former champions Naga Corp FC slammed league newcomers Rithysen 10-1 in the Metfone Cambodia League 2011 to strengthen their position in the top half of the standings.
Naga, who had a stuttering start to the season, found the goals through hat-tricks from Oiboh Julius (37th, 74th and 79th) and Teab Vatanak (58th, 62nd and 66th).
And also from Prak Chanratana (24th minute), Chin Chum (80th), Meas Channa (82nd) and Kob Sa (87th).
With the three points – their third win on a trot – Naga are now third in the standings with ten points, behind National Defense Ministry FC on second (12 points) and leaders Phnom Penh Crown FC (13 points).
In the meantime Phnom Penh Crown had little problem in disposing of Build Bright United when they walked away easy 3-0 winners.
An own goal early in the eighth minute from Heng Songkly gave Phnom Penh a slim 1-0 lead at the half before further goals from San Narith (56th minute) and Sun Sopanha (73rd) in the second half rounded off the full points for the former champions.
On the other hand, Preah Khan Reach FC disposed National Police FC 3-1.
The score at the half was 2-0 to the advantage of Preah Khan with goals coming off Khuon Laboravy in the 13th minute and Tum Saray in the 30th minute.
And while National Police did pull a goal back just five minutes after the restart from Tit Dina, there was no stopping Preah Khan from winning all three points when Tum Saray scored his second goal of the afternoon just a minute later.
