PHNOM PENH (11 May 2011) – Former champions Naga Corp FC picked up only their second win in the Metfone Cambodia Leage 2011 while newcomers Rithysen FC remained stuck of the bottom of the heap.
Following a non-too impressive start to the season with a loss (National Police) and then a draw (Build Bright United), they finally scored their first win the previous week with a 3-1 victory over National Defense.
And this week, Naga showed that they have perhaps found the rhythm they have been looking for with a 2-1 win over Preah Khan Reach FC.
Naga raced to a 1-0 lead at the half through Oiboh Julius in the 41st minute before Prak Chanratana put them comfortably 2-0 ahead with the second goal in the 81st minute.
Four minutes later, Tum Saray pulled a late goal for Preah Khan.
In the meantime, Rithysen FC are still without a win after four matches – this time going down 5-0 to Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC.
Kirivong showed no mercy against their hapless opponents with goal off Ayodele Silva Sunday (41st minute), Oladiji Olatune (47th and 55th), Ayodele Silva Sunday (61st) and Ouk Thon (65th).
The encounter between National Police and National Defense saw the latter picking up the full points through a solitary 1-0 win.
Phoung Soksana struck the only goal in the game in the 22nd minute.
