PHNOM PENH (14 June 2010) – Naga Corp FC beat Prek Pra Keila 2-1 as National Defense fall to a 3-2 loss to Khemara Keila FC in the Metfone Cambodian League.
Defending champions Naga, who had ended the first round of the league on second, are stronger into the second round to wrest the top spot following their close win over Prek Pra Keila. Two goals from Tiep Vatanak (32nd and 62nd minute) were enough to seal the win for Naga even though Preak Pra Keila did pull a goal back in the 47th minute off Put Sotheara. The full points gave Naga Corp the chance to pick up 24 points from ten games. In the meantime, National Defense failed to take advantage of their lead when they fell to a 3-2 loss to Khemara Keila. National Defense went in front in the 38th minute off Suong Virak only for Khemara to score two quick goals (Ek Vanak in the 44th and Suon Makara in the 45th minute) to take a 2-1 lead at the break. Suon then gave Khemara a two-goal advantage when he scored his second of the afternoon in the 67th minute before National Defense staged a late fight back with their second goal of the game in the 90th minute from Phuong Soksana.
