PHNOM PENH (18 Feb 2013) – Naga Corp FC grabbed the Samdech Hun Sen Cup 2013 when they beat Ministry of National Defence 5-3 on penalties in the final that was played at the National Olympic Stadium.
The score at the end of regulation and extra-time was 0-0. The was Naga Corp’s first after four attempts.
“I am really excited about finally winning the Hun Sen Cup. The success was made possible because we worked as a unit on all levels. The board, coaching staff and players worked together so well to overcome many difficulties to win today,” said Naga coach Lim Noun afterwards.
Other than the Samdech Hun Sen Cup trophy and winners’ medals, Naga also took home 80 million riel (USD 20,086) in prize money.
