PHNOM PENH (Nov 25, 2007) – Naga Corp FC celebrated their win of the Cambodian Premier League with a fabulous 5-1 win over Khemara Keila FC in the final game of the season at the National Olympic Stadium.
With the title already in the bag, Naga Corp certainly did not put in any of the stops against second-placed Khemara in the second half of the tie after taking just a 1-0 lead at the break off Teap Vathanak in the 38th minute. Two quick goals within the space of just four minutes from Pich Seyha in the 72nd and 76th minute was just what they needed to coast to another win as they added two further goals off Eang Saknida in the 82nd minute and Chhim Sambo deep in injury time for the final scoreline. Khemara’s only goal of the afternoon came off Kuoch Sokomphiak two minutes to the end to confirm their place as the runner-up team for the 2007 season. Third in the league was Phnom Penh Empire FC who regained some measure of respect after having to come back from being two-goals down before winning 3-2 over Build Bright University. Prum Puth Sithy scored a brace (7th and 26th minute) for Build Bright to take a 2-0 at the break before Empire stormed back into the game with a hat-trick (55th, 84th and 85th minute) from Chan Chhaya for the win.
