PHNOM PENH (10 March 2013) – Former champions Naga Corp FC picked up their second win in five matches of the Metfone Cambodia League 2013 with a hard fought 2-0 win over Asia Europe University yesterday at the Army Stadium.
Asia Europe University were anything but pushovers as they held the two-time champions (2007 and 2009) to a deadlock at the break as Naga had to pull out all the stops for the win right at the end.
Ishola Ibrahim Abiodun was the toast of the afternoon with two goals in the last ten minutes of play (80th and 90th minute) as it moved Naga to the top half of the league.
As defending champions and current league leaders Boueng Ket Rubber Field continue to slay the field with a 5-0 thrashing of Build Bright United this week, Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC had to battle to a 1-1 draw against National Police.
Nwakuna Friday had given Kirivong the lead on 40 minutes but National Police fought back with the equalising goal two minutes to the end. From Tit Dina.
