Naga Corp Held; Preah Khan Two Points Behind

PHNOM PENH (12 August 2012) – With National Police already out of contention, leaders Naga Corp FC’s title ambition suffered a slight bump this week when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC in the Metfone Cambodia League 2012.

Following the stalemate at the end of the first half, San Narith gave Naga Corp the lead on 56minute before Giwa Akeem Bolaji nailed the equaliser five minutes to the end.

With the one point, Naga Corp have collected 34 points from 16 games where they are now a point ahead of second-placed National Police who had already completed their campaign for the season.

But all is not high and dry yet for Naga Corp where third-placed Preah Khan Reach FC are still within striking distance where they have amassed 32 points from the same 16 number of games played.

And fourth-placed Boueng Ket Rubber Field still have the chance of usurping the crown should the others falter. Boueng Ket have 30 points with two games still to play.

This week, they showed their commitment for their first ever crown with a 5-1 beating of Western University, off goals from Nwakuna Friday 48^th and 89^th minute, Yob Romatorn (63^rd and 81^st minute), Keo Sokgoun (65^th). Western University’s only goal in the game was scored by Pang Sambo in the 52^nd minute.
