JAKARTA (6 May 2014) – The Myanmar Under-19 team got the result they were looking for in their two-match tour of Indonesia when they held their counterparts to a 1-1 draw in friendly that was played at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium last night.
Just four minutes into the game, Muchlis Hadi made good on a cross from Hargianto to give the home team the lead before the visiting Myanmar side replied two minutes later from Aung Thu’s close range effort.
“We were more attacking than Indonesia. The key was to shut down Evan Dimas which we did,” said Myanmar U19 head coach Gerd Friedrich Horst.
Countered Indonesian coach Indra Sjafri: “there are many interpretations from this draw. Society just refused to accept that we have made the right progress. A draw is not such a bad result.”
