YANGON (8 April 2019) – Myanmar are taking their preparations for the AFF Under-15 Championship and ultimately the AFC U16 qualifiers seriously where the team is now in China for a tournament.
The Myanmar squad under head coach Koga Takuma are taking part in the Hua Shan Cup Invitational Under-16 Championship in Weinan, China.
The team had already played in the opening game against hosts China U16 two days ago where they fell to a 5-0 loss.
And just now, the team also fell to a 5-0 loss to Tajikistan U16.
They will complete the fixtures against Kyrgyzstan U16 two days later.
“We came here and we participated for this tournament because we want to upgrade our performance. We will seek the experience by playing against better teams and we will review the performance of our players,” said Koga.
“Our target is for the AFC qualifiers. Before that, we will compete in the AFF U15 in Thailand in August. We know it is hard to qualify the AFC U16 (the qualifiers is in October) but we will try as hard as we can.”
