YANGON (22 Feb 2013) – The Myanmar national team preparing for the AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers next month were held to a scoreless draw by the Malaysian Under-23 side in a friendly that was played this evening at the Youth Training Centre in Thuwunna.
The game was Myanmar’s second test this year following their 1-0 loss to the Philippines earlier in the month. For the AFC Challenge Cup qualifying round, Myanmar are in Group A against India, Chinese Taipei and Guam.
In the meantime Michael Weiss, the chief coach of the Philippines has called up 31 players for a centralised training camp this week including the Younghusband brothers – James and Philip.
The Philippines national side will also be playing in the AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers against Turkmenistan, Cambodia and Brunei in Group E.
