YANGON (22 Dec 2018) – Myanmar’s local sports provider, My Sports, have secured an eight-year exclusive broadcast and production rights with the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF).
The deal has ensured My Sports the home of Myanmar men’s and women’s, senior team, U23 and U19 teams, as well as Myanmar men’s and women’s Futsal matches through to December 2026 – according to a statement from My Sports.
The new deal will add to the growing football portfolio that My Sports enjoy that included Myanmar National League (MNL), English FA Cup, General Aung San Shield, Italian Serie A and the Chinese Super League.
The eight-year agreement will ensure that fans in Myanmar can enjoy comprehensive coverage of Myanmar football with live and exclusive matches from Myanmar National Football and Futsal team matches on MY SPORTS, in addition to Myanmar’s Top Domestic League and Cup competitions.
As part of the agreement, the MFF reserves the right to license matches to MRTV.
“This landmark partnership with the MFF ensures the highest rated sporting events in Myanmar will be live on MY SPORTS,” Clint Easthorpe, Managing Director of MY SPORTS was quoted as saying.
“This addition of the Myanmar National Team matches solidifies our position as the home of Myanmar football.
“In addition to broadcasting the Senior National Myanmar team, we will also produce and broadcast U23 and U19 matches, significantly increasing the number of produced Myanmar National team matches across all age levels.”
Added MFF CEO Phone Naing Zaw: “Myanmar National Football is extremely important to the people of Myanmar, and we hope that the expanded coverage of Myanmar National Team matches on MY SPORTS platforms will help grow the already massive support for Myanmar National Football.”
MY SPORTS is a new sports service in Myanmar dedicated to delivering international and domestic sports and lifestyle entertainment including the Myanmar National Football Team.
All matches from the MNL season and the General Aung San Shield, English FA Cup, Italian Serie A, BWF Badminton will be broadcast.
The action will be delivered exclusively on MY SPORTS linear channel, online streaming service and social media platforms from 2019.
