BANGKOK (29 Oct 2012) – SCG Muang Thong United won the Thai Premier League 2012 in commanding fashion where a 2-2 draw against BEC Tero Sasana yesterday ensured that they ended their campaign as the only undefeated team the whole season long.
Against BEC Tero, Muang Thong – winners in 2009 and 2010 – fell behind by a shot from Nataporn Phanrit before Mario Gjurovski nailed in the equalizer some moments later.
Teerasil Dangda then gave Muang Thong the lead in the second half as BEC Tero replied off Cleiton Silva’s header moments later.
In the meantime, Chonburi FC finished second in the league after beating Thai Port FC 2-1 as last year’s champions Buriram United ended the season on a low with a 2-1 loss to Chiang Rai United.
TTM Chiang Mai lost to Insee Police United 2-0; Samut Songkhram FC defeated Pattaya United 2-0; Wuachon United lost to Bangkok Glass FC 5-1; Chainat FC defeated Army United 1-0; TOT SC lost to Osotspa M-150 Saraburi 3-1 and Esan United defeated BB-CU FC 1-0.
