BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (4 Feb 2014) – MS PDB (the Royal Brunei Police Force Sports Council) grabbed the leadership in the DST Super League 2014 when they opened their campaign in the new season with a 3-0 thumping of QAF FC.
Mohd Bohari Mohd Hasan was in his form when he curled in an early freekick to give MS PDB the lead before converting a penalty not too long later for the second goal of the tie.
Substitute Mohd Nazirul then rounded off a fine outing for MS PDB with the third goal two minutes to the end.
“It didn’t matter how many goals we won by, so long as we got the win,” said MS PDB manager Sahrin Md Jaya.
In the meantime, Charity Shield winners MS ABDB (the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council) fell to a shock 3-2 defeat to Liang Lumut Recreational Club Football Team as last season strugglers Najip FC edged Kilanas 2-0.
Najip FC, who had finished the 2013 season without a single point to their name, went ahead in the 59th minute through Abg Norsilmy Abg Taha before Muhd Maududi Kasmi added the second goal in the 68th minute.
Elsewhere, Wijaya FC beat Majra United FC 1-0 as Indera SC edged Jerudong FC 3-2.
