BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (2 Oct 2016) – MS ABDB (Royal Brunei Armed Sports Council) have won the DST Super League 2016 title for the second time in two years.
The win has allowed MS ABDB to be on equal footing with Indera Sports Club where they have won two DST Super League titles each.
“We feel very honoured to win the title this year,” said MS ABDB’s manager Major Razanol Hardi Abdul Razak.
“This season has been great. For me, the most important thing is to find new talent for the next season to replace retiring players.
“Our future plan will include hunting for new hidden young talent from the (Royal Brunei Armed Forces) RBAF so that we can give them the opportunity to contribute to our organisation and, indirectly, to football in our country.”
MS ABDA had already claimed the title on last month after their closest challengers Indera faltered to the Tabuan Under 21 team – which gave them an unassailable 23-point lead.
Champions MS ABDB walked away with a cash prize of BDN14,000, while second-placed Indera won BND10,000 as third-placed Wijaya took home BND6,000.
