BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (9 June 2014) – MS ABDB (Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) kept the chase at the top of the DST Super League following their close 2-1 win over Kilanas FC.
Mohd Khairuddin Abdul Kadir gave MS ABDB the lead just before the break in the 41st minute following a through pass from Mohd Mazazizi Mazlan. The army men grew in confidence into the second half when they doubled the advantage when Mohd Baharin Hamidon headed in a corner in the 62nd minute.
Kilanas’ Mohd Nuralifullah Hj Zaini pulled a goal back nine minutes to the end but MS ABDB defended in numbers to win the full points. After 13 matches played, MS ABDB are currently placed second at the table with 28 points.
Following the withdrawal of Majra United from the league, the newly updated DST Super League table saw Indera Sports Club (SC) still on top with 34 points but with a game in hand.
“We have three matches left in the league and we must win all the games, then we will see how Indera’s progress in their remaining matches,” said MS ABDB manager Major (A) Muhd Mufid Umar Ariffin.
“What we need to do now is to keep focus on winning in every game and at the same time keeping pace with Indera.
“We will face LLRC FT (Liang Lumut Recreational Club Football Team) next, then we will play Najip FC and we will face Indera in our final game.”
