YANGON (23 Jan 2014) – The 2014 season of the Myanmar National League (MNL) will begin on 1 February. Like the previous season, the MNL 2014 will consist of twelve clubs.
With slightly over a week left to the start of the new MNL season, all MNL clubs are scrambling to close in on the pre-season transfer window; extending the old contracts with the current players and to make contracts with the new players as well.
The pre-season transfer window is within the whole month of January.
Among the clubs working hard to get the signatures of their players would be none other than Yangon United FC – MNL champions for three years in a row (2011, 2012 and 2013) and with an eye to reach Round of 16 of the AFC Cup – have been considerably busy strengthening their line-up.
Like Yangon United, Ayeyarwady United FC are now almost at the end of confirming their players in the transfer window where they have included Moe Win and Min Min Tun, in particular as they aim to win the MNL this time round.
The other big clubs like Yadanarbon FC, Zayar Shwe Myay FC and KBZ FC are also striving to close the contract signing for the new season as they finalised their line-ups.
The first round of 2014 MNL season will come to end before the Thingyan Festival.
