HANOI (29 Oct 2014) – Vietnam, the 2008 champions, will begin work on fitness ahead of the AFF Suzuki Cup which they will be co-hosting next month.
Following their return from Japan where the team dropped two games and losing once, head coach Toshiya Miura said that it important that he sift the individual quality of the players ahead of ASEAN’s biggest championship.
“We will work on fitness, discipline and tactics. I also want to check the individual quality so I can choose the best players for the final squad,” said Miura.
The 30-man strong squad is currently training at the Go Dau Stadium where they have also unveiled alongside three new faces, the addition of a fitness coach in Fujimoto Hiroo.
“Hiroo will take care of injuries and rehabilitation, taping and massage,” Miura added.
For the AFF Suzuki Cup this year, Vietnam have been drawn in Group A against Indonesia, Philippines and Laos.
Group B are hosts Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Myanmar.
