JAKARTA (11 Nov 2011) – Newly promoted side Mitra Kukar FC have signed Marcus Bent – who had previously played for Blackburn Rovers, Everton and Birmingham in the English Premier League – on a year’s contract.
The signing was facilitated by Mitra chief coach Simon McMenemy.
“We have agreed on a one year-contract,” confirmed Mitra Kukar manager Aji Ari Junaidi this week.
“Bent was picked through the recommendation of coach Simon (McMenemy).”
Bent had 16 years’ experience in England’s top league – playing 570 matches and scoring 110 goals.
Mitra’s other signings are Lee Sang-Min (South Korea), Pierre Njanka (Cameroon), and Nemanja Obric (Serbia).
