HANOI (14 Sept 2010) – The Millenium Thang Long Cup-Hanoi Cup has attracted a handful of World Cuppers who played for DPR Korea in South Africa recently.
Out of the 22 players registered for the Millenium Thang Long Cup slated for 20-24 September, 14 players were at the FIFA World Cup in June. Among the players who will feature at the My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi are goalkeeper Ri Myong-guk, defenders Pak Chol-jin, Nam Song-chol, midfielders Kim Yong-jun, Pak Nam-chol, Kim Kul-il, Mun In-guk and striker Choe Kum-chol. Other than the team from DPR Korea and hosts Vietnam, the other teams taking part are the Australia Under-23 and also the Kuwait Under-23. A purse of USD20,000 awaits the winner while the runner-up team will win USD10,000 and the third-placed team USD5,000. Tickets for the Millenium Thang Long Cup cost between USD2 to USD6. |
