SINGAPORE (21 Feb 2014) – An early second half strike from Miljan Mrdakovic gave Tampines Rovers a 1-0 win over Home United to at once lift the Singapore Charity Shield and marked the beginning of the new season.
In the match that was played at the Jalan Besar Stadium, Miljan slammed home the only goal of the game just a minute after the restart to also give Tampines the first three points of the year.
Other than losing the first tie of the new S-League, Home also ended the match with just ten men following the red card on Qiu Li nine minutes to the end.
