YANGON (19 June 2013) – Tin Aung, the general secretary of the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) has pledged his administration’s full support to the development of Myanmar referees so that they can be at par with the top officials of Asia.
Myanmar recently received a visit from a delegation under the AFC Pilot Member Association Project for Referees Administration, the second nation to have received the visit after India.
The AFC delegation which consisted of AFC Head of Referees Operations Section Abdul Razak Anuar and Shuichiro Hara was in Myanmar to share AFC’s expertise and experience in good administration for their review and adoption.
The first session was attended by Tin Aung, Deputy Director-General (Rtd) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and MFF Head of International Department Soe Win, MFF Head of Referees Tun Hla Aung and members of the MFF Referees Committee.
Tin Aung said during his opening remark: “referees are an important element of a football match and without them, the match cannot be played. I’d like to thank AFC for selecting MFF to be part of the pilot project and I’m confident that the MFF refereeing fraternity will benefit from these initiatives and support.
“MFF will give the fullest support and cooperation to the MFF Referees Department for them to be successful and MFF wishes for their referees to be on par with the best of Asia.”
Abdul Razak expressed his confidence in MFF’s ability to reach their goals of excellent refereeing, saying: “AFC is very happy to be invited by MFF to share the experiences of AFC and other MAs’ success story, and from this sharing of knowledge and experiences, MFF should be able to progress higher to the next level.
“With the recommendations by AFC and the will and commitment shown by MFF to excel, MFF will surely succeed.”
