PETALING JAYA (12 Dec 2014) – Prior to the start of this year’s AFF Suzuki Cup, the Asean Football Federation (AFF) announced that it had entered into a partnership agreement with Sportradar to secure the unparalleled coverage and analysis of the global betting markets offered on all 18 matches of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2014.
Sportradar is the market leading supplier of sports and betting-related data services. Under the agreement with AFF, Sportradar’s Fraud Detection System will notify the AFF if there are any suspicious betting patterns on any of the 12 group games or the six games in the knock-out stages.
The following is Sportradar’s report of last night’s second-leg semifinal match in Hanoi between Vietnam and Malaysia.
The Security Services did not observe any suspicious betting patterns in any of the pre-match or live betting markets. In fact, a moderate betting confidence was witnessed for Vietnam to win the match in the pre-match markets, however this betting is not strong enough to raise any integrity concerns. There are no signs in any of the betting markets to indicate that these incidents are suspicious. Although Malaysia recorded a surprising victory to advance to the final, the Security Services can find no betting evidence to suggest that this match was targeted for manipulation.
