JAKARTA (5 Oct 2011) – The more notable signing this week in the lead up to the Indonesia Super League 2011/2012 season would be that of Simon McMenemy agreeing to coach newcomers Mitra Kukar FC while former champions Arema Indonesia agreeing to terms with Milomir Seslija.
McMenemy (pix), the former helmsman who led Philippines to the semi-finals of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010, was selected by Mitra Kukar FC president Endri Erawan.
“Hopefully with the signing of a younger, more energetic coach, the team will be more spirited and able to be more competitive this year,” said Endri.
“We are still working on signing a few players and we will make the appropriate announcement when we have made the confirmation.”
IN THE MEANTIME Milomir Seslija, the former stalwart with Malaysian side Sabah, has signed to lead former Indonesia Super League (ISL) champions Arema Indonesia.
Arema decided to sign up Seslija based on his track record where apart from being a well-travelled professional, he also had the right credential in as far as his coaching experience was concerned.
