PETALING JAYA (3 August 2017) – The Malaysian Under-23 team received a boost this week when sports-loving Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, the Sultan of Johor, gave the team a RM4 million (USD 935,000) gift for qualifying for next year’s AFC Under-23 Championship in China.
Malaysia defied the odds to qualify for the tournament as group winners.
The Malaysian players had already received RM6,000 each from the FA of Malaysia (FAM) for their effort in Bangkok.
