SHAH ALAM (3 Sept 2016) – A late penalty from Hazza Ali Mubarak gave the Bahrain Under-21 team a hard fought 2-1 win over Malaysia in a friendly that was played at the UiTM Stadium in Shah Alam.
Following the scoreless draw from the first friendly a few days earlier, both teams were full of gusto this time round as they went on the offensive as soon as the firs whistle was blown.
But once again, the first 45 minutes did not produce the goal for either teams as Bahrain they duly stepped up for the lead after just eight minutes into the second half when Hazza latched on to a cross from the right.
Just five minutes later, Malaysia got the equaliser when striker S. Kumaahran slammed in the square off Iszuan Amin.
But just when things were heading into another deadlock, a bad foul from Malaysian defender Mohd Faris Shah on Ibrahim Malood deep in injury time allowed Hazza to score.
